10 Beauty Uses for Coconut Oil

According to various records, formal documentation and research on benefits of coconut oil were on full swing in 1950’s. But in spite of all its benefits, it lost its traction by 1980’s.*

Though the coconut oil appeared in the daily use almost seventy years ago, it seems like the beauty benefits of it have been discovered lately, with this wave of this back to nature lifestyle that we all seek.

And we couldn’t be more thankful for the discovery of its uses! Not only the coconut oil is amazing in the kitchen, useful for frying or consumed raw in raw vegan cakes, but it is a one product that meets all of a woman’s beauty needs. Let’s see together what you can use it for!

  • Body Lotion

Apply in small quantities all over the body! It will hydrated the skin and give a healthy look!

 

  • Cuticle Oil

Surprised? Why – I already mentioned that coconut oil is useful for (almost) everything. If you have cracked cuticles, all you have to do is to apply coconut oil balm right at the base of nails.

 

  • Lip Balm

Hydrates the cracked lips and makes them kissable! You can put a small quantity of coconut oil in a miniature jar and take it with you everywhere.

 

  • Face Scrub

Mix coconut with sodium bicarbonate and softly massage your face in circular motions for 30 seconds. Rinse and pat dry. The oil will absorb immediately.

 

  • Body Scrub

Mix half a cup of coconut oil with a handful of coarse salt, sugar or coffee and voila – now you have a body exfoliator, which also perfectly hydrates  your body.

 

  • Massage Oil

Melt it in between your hands. Now it is up to you who is using it to give you the best massage and also aromatherapy at the same time! Smells divine!

 

  • Deep Hair Mask

Use coconut oil as a leave-in mask, for at least one hour. For best results, use over night. Do not apply on the hair roots because they will be a bit greasy.

 

  • Deodorant

This one sounds very… different let’s say?! Well coconut oil is an efficient deodorant when combined with arrowroot powder, cornstarch, baking soda, and a scented oil.

 

  • Nigh Face Cream

Apply a small quantity all over your face and let it work its magic over night! The antioxidants are great for smoothing fine lines and wrinkles while you sleep.

 

  • Makeup Remover

Coconut oil is efficient even against the most resistant water proof mascara! Apply it directly to the face as an oil cleanser and remove with a wet cotton pad.
